Mastectomy, check

Evie rocked her double mastectomy yesterday. (Is anyone surprised?) :) Below is Bob’s update regarding the surgery and her recovery. We are praising God for a successful procedure and praying to stay on track for the green light for them to head home today. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and support. Thank you to the folks who are supplying her with a wedge pillow and mastectomy robe and meals for when she gets home!

From Bob last night:

“Oncology surgeon said Evie did really great through the whole procedure. Blood pressure was good. The tumor is nowhere to be seen. She took three sets of nodes, which is what she expected. She also said there was no sign of any masses in the left breast. She said any other potential disease is microscopic and not visible, but she saw no sign of it. All that remains in the pathology results which will take about two weeks.

The plastic surgeon said everything went perfectly. His team is now in charge of her recovery and he said if she does well coming out of anesthesia and has no complications (fever, rash, etc) she should be released as planned tomorrow [Thursday].”

We just got another update from Evie herself that she’s hopeful to be released around lunchtime. We can’t thank you enough for your prayers and support for our own ashokatano. :) Praising God!
